Teach your students about rare allergies! This is the perfect resource for enriching your kindergarten or grade 1 program, or for homeschool families wanting to explore medical literacy.
This activity book enables the young learner to:
Learn what an allergy is,
Understand that there are many different allergies but not everyone needs to avoid all the things that contribute to allergies, and
Be able to name a few rare allergies.
Allergies are widespread, medically important, and can substantially affect quality of life on a daily basis as well as over the long term. Therefore, instruction on a wide variety of allergies is a must-have in any medical literacy curriculum. Every person in a STEM or healthcare career addressing medical or health issues will need to grapple with problems concerning allergies.
A basic yet broad and holistic understanding of allergies, are an important part of health education and improving health literacy to promote health outcomes. Knowledge of these issues helps people to recognize the diversity of allergies, understand what may be happening with their bodies or those around them, increase empathy, and advocate for a healthy environment.
