This booklet covers the following topics:

● What information can be used as clues to identify possible contact allergens and allergies
● Prompts and resources to learn more about allergic contact dermatitis and contact allergens

Basic knowledge of contact dermatitis and contact allergy is an important part of health education and improving health literacy to promote health outcomes. Early identification or diagnosis of contact allergens is important whenever possible to prevent the problem from spreading or getting worse. It is not always possible for people to access a patch test or a healthcare practitioner who is knowledgeable about contact allergens. Therefore, information about contact dermatitis and contact allergies helps people to identify and avoid exposures to allergens which may contribute to their eczema.
